Welcome Welcome to the Tarleton State University - Center for Instructional Technology and Distributed Education (CITDE). Tarleton has a dedicated faculty and staff that are committed to providing students with an outstanding educational experience at a time and place that is convenient for the learner. Our programs and courses are currently offered in three formats - Web-based, Interactive Television, and Off-campus face-to-face. The programs and individual courses are designed to accommodate individuals who are unable to attend on campus classes, prefer independent learning, or would like to take a course at their convenience. All of Tarleton's programs and courses are designed and facilitated using a "learner-centered" approach. Students who are usually successful in Distributed Education courses are those who enjoy learning independently, are highly motivated, and possess strong study skills. The CITDE is dynamic, changing, and responsive to student needs. Please take a few minutes to explore our exciting programs and course offerings. For additional information you are welcome to contact our office.
Mission The Mission of the Center is to support the Universities’ Culture of Excellence in Teaching. We support the mission by helping faculty find innovative ways to use technology to achieve their instructional goals. Drawing on expertise in both technology and pedagogy, CITDE staff assist instructors with projects, share information across the university about effective practices and examine the effect of technology on teaching and learning.
