Beginning of Semester Process

Prior to the beginning of each semester, LIVE sections are automatically created and populated from the Duck Trax Student System. When you log into Blackboard CE 6.0, your live course section will be listed in Course List of the My Blackboard page (designated WITHOUT the rc_lastname at the front of the course name).

Copy Content from the Repository Section to the Live Section

1. Log in to Blackboard 6.0. You will see both the Repository Section(s) and Live Sections. Select the new LIVE section (designated WITHOUT the rc_lastname at the front of the course name).

2. The “Assign Course Content” screen will appear. Select “Copy Content from another course” radio button and select Continue button.

IMPORTANT! Select the middle option – "Copy Content from another course” radio button! If you click continue before changing the option for Blank Course to Copy content you will need to contact CITDE for assistance.

3. The “Copy Content from another course” screen will appear. On this screen, there will be a list of your repository sections. Select the radio button beside the correct/desired repository section from which you wish to copy content to the new LIVE section.

4. Then click CONTINUE button. You will now return to the new Live section where the content has been added.

Tip: Now that you've copied content into your LIVE section, you can hide your rc_lastname section until the end of semester (to avoid confusion and a long list of courses on your MyBlackboard page). Use the pencil icon on the MyBlackboard page to hide your repository courses during the semester.
