Blackboard Learn 9

Introducing Blackboard Learn 9

Tarleton has used the current version of Blackboard (Campus Edition) since 2006, and the company is now requiring customers to transition to the latest version in its product line, Blackboard Learn 9. This transition represents a new interface and learning curve and, in effect, is a new product. Click here for a list of enhancement/functionality changes that have been discovered in this new product. After spending a semester evaluating the remaining three products in the LMS market (that Blackboard hasn’t yet purchased), including our own internal evaluation, as well as getting input from our advisory council and other faculty, we’ve concluded that Blackboard Learn 9 is the product we’d like to move towards. We are excited about the new features that will accompany this transition, but realistic about the challenges. We want to make the migration as smooth and painless as possible, so we’ve developed the following TENTATIVE plan for migrating faculty and students to the new platform. This timeline is subject to change as we work through the pilot phase. View the tentative plan.
